The GymLock developer (hereinafter referred to as "the Operator") establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the application "GymLock" (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").
Article 1 (Personal Information)
"Personal Information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data relating to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from that information alone, such as health insurance card insurer numbers (personal identification information).
Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Information)
The Operator may collect information through the following methods:
- Location data is obtained on the device during use of the Service
- Subscription status information is obtained through the App Store and RevenueCat for subscription purchase and management
- App selection information is obtained through the iOS Screen Time (Family Controls) framework for providing the app locking feature
Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)
The purposes for which the Operator collects and uses personal information are as follows:
- Provision of the gym check-in feature (verification of gym arrival via location data)
- Provision of the app locking feature
- Management and verification of subscription status
- Improvement and maintenance of the Service
- Response to users who violate the Terms of Service
- Notification regarding changes or discontinuation of the Service
Article 4 (Changes to Purpose of Use)
- The Operator shall change the purpose of use of personal information only to the extent reasonably recognized as related to the purpose before the change.
- If the purpose of use is changed, the changed purpose shall be notified to users within the application.
Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
- The Operator shall not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws:
- When it is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national institution, local government, or an entity entrusted by either in executing affairs prescribed by laws, and obtaining consent may impede the execution of such affairs
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, in the following cases the recipient shall not be considered a third party:
- When the Operator entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary for achieving the purpose of use (including subscription management by RevenueCat)
- When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business
Article 6 (Data Storage Location)
- Data such as check-in history, gym location information, and blocked app settings are stored only on the user's device. No transmission to the Operator's servers is performed.
- Location data is obtained only at the time of check-in and is used solely to determine whether the user has arrived at the gym. Location data is not transmitted to external servers.
- Due to Apple's privacy protections for iOS Screen Time app selection information, the Operator cannot access specific app names.
Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
Users can delete all data stored on the device by uninstalling the Service.
Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)
Users can stop the collection of location data by revoking location permission from their device settings. Users can also manage or cancel their subscription through the App Store.
Article 9 (Changes to Privacy Policy)
- The content of this Policy may be changed without notifying users, except for matters otherwise provided for in laws or this Policy.
- Unless otherwise specified by the Operator, the changed Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
